Two separate things decide what happens at the end of the month: whether unused credits expire, and what an employee can do once the monthly allowance is gone.
Do unused credits expire?
This is a setting in your agreement with FitKit, not a fixed rule. There are two options.
- Monthly reset. This is the default. Credits are valid inside the calendar month and are not carried over. On the 1st of the next month the full allowance is reissued.
- Non expiring credits. Credits stay on the employee profile until they are used. This is agreed in the contract and cannot be switched on from the company portal.
If you are not sure which setting applies to your company, ask FitKit. We can see it and confirm it in writing.
What happens when the allowance runs out mid month?
The employee can no longer book against the company allowance. Two options remain, both at the employee's own cost:
- Buy credits in the app with a personal card. Credits bought this way do not expire.
- Upgrade to a subscription and pay the difference personally.
Why the setting matters for your budget
Monthly reset keeps cost inside the month, so each invoice reflects that month's usage and nothing carries forward. Non expiring credits smooth out seasonal dips, because an employee who travels in August can still use the allowance in September, but the liability stays open on your account until it is spent.
